Mr. Brick is a trusted counselor and advocate for clients in a wide range of businesses and industries. His clients include for-profit and not-for-profit companies, private and institutional investors, limited liability companies, partnerships, and individuals involved in commercial and business affairs.
Mr. Brick brings to each of his clients an exemplary bedside manner that helps them to understand the legal aspects of their cases and helps them to participate in the strategic decisions of the representation. He represents clients in after-the-fact dispute resolution, and he also guides clients as they face challenging circumstances in real time and need guidance through those circumstances (before litigation arises).
Mr. Brick’s excellence as a business litigator is seen both in his written court documents and in his courtroom presence as a trial lawyer. He is an exceptionally skilled and strategic trial lawyer who manages the courtroom “stage” and who shows particular talent in cross-examining opposing witnesses and parties. It is rare to find an attorney with such comfort in the courtroom who also possesses a mastery of the law and procedure and who excels at writing persuasively.
In addition to representing clients at the trial level, Mr. Brick is a talented appellate litigator who has obtained difficult reversals of lower court decisions and judgments. His comfort in the trial courts extends to his appearances before multi-judge appellate benches, which routinely involve appellate arguments simultaneously with four or five different judges on the appellate panel hearing the appeal.
Prior to forming Brick Law PLLC, Mr. Brick was an accomplished part of the commercial litigation practices of two large international law firms in New York for over ten years. He then practiced law at a smaller business litigation boutique and was the Practice Chair of the commercial and business litigation group at a well-known plaintiff-focused firm for almost five years (also serving as the firm’s General Counsel).
In 2017, Mr. Brick was named as a New York Metro Super Lawyer for Business Litigation.
Mr. Brick graduated cum laude from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law.
Mr. Brick also regularly serves as a trial judge in the state-wide annual mock trial competition sponsored by the New York State Bar Association, where he takes pride in mentoring high school students about trial and litigation techniques.
